AQUATICS DIRECTOR
We are thrilled to welcome Marie LaMaida as the Camp Jacobson Aquatics Director! Marie joined Sid Jacobson JCC in February as the Aquatics Director where she provides swim lessons from infants to adults. For 15 years, Marie has been lifeguarding, teaching and coaching and for the past 8 years she has managed aquatic facilities and trained staff throughout Long Island. In college, Marie studied Elementary and Special Education and has a passion for working with children. We are so happy to have her join the Camp Jacobson family!

LITTLE ART STUDIO
We are thrilled to announce our partnership with Little Art Studio for the summer! Little Art Studio will be running our Arts & Crafts Department, creating an exciting new art curriculum for all of our camper groups as well as special Club Programming for our older campers. We know that our campers will love getting creative and working on amazing new projects with the Little Art Studio staff!

FULL STEAM AHEAD!
We are proud to introduce Aimée Weber as our STEAM Specialist this summer. Campers will explore Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics with Aimée through group projects and individual investigations. Aimée has a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from the University of Maryland and Masters Degrees from Bank Street School of Education and Fordham University. Aimée taught at the Rodeph Sholom School for 14 years and has worked at summer camps including Park Avenue Synagogue, The Dalton School and Hampton Country Day Camp. Aimée’s two children are happy returning Camp Jacobson campers.

PHL REBOOT
In addition to our popular Jacobson Ninja Warrior Course, campers will enjoy our Positive Healthy Living (PHL) Program with fitness games, obstacle courses and more!

SHINSHINIM
We are so excited to introduce three of Sid Jacobson JCC’s Shinshinim who will be working at camp this summer, Eden Elfasi, Tomer Kazes and Guy Landa. Shinshinim are Israeli high school graduates who voluntarily defer their army service in order to do a year of service promoting Israel engagement and awareness throughout our community.

  • Eden Elfasi from Achuzat Barak will be an Explorer Counselor. She has two siblings, served as a volunteer at the 1st Aid Organization of Israel (MDA) and serves as a counselor at the “Bnei Hamoshavim” youth movement.
  • Tomer Kazes from Ra’anana will be an Adventure Specialist. He has four siblings, loves swimming and music, and served as a counselor at the Scouts.
  • Guy Landa, from Har Adar will be an Explorer Counselor. He has two siblings, enjoys sports and playing the guitar.

Eden, Tomer and Guy will bring some Israeli culture to camp with the introduction of Hebrew Word of the Week and we can’t wait to see what they have planned for Israel Fest Day on July 30!

CLUBS AT CAMP
Clubs at Camp Jacobson are an amazing opportunity for campers to engage in activities that interest them the most. With our wide variety of Club options, Lower Camp, Upper Camp and Explorer campers will be able to participate in their favorite activities as well as explore new interests. Club periods are 1-hour long and rotate every 2 weeks. Freshman will get a “taste of Club” with a Club period once a week. Sophomores will have a Club period twice a week. Juniors and Seniors will have a Club period 4 times per week. Explorers will have a Club period once a week on a non-trip day.

SENIORS FAMILY LATE NIGHT/VISITING EVENING
New this summer, Senior Boys and Girls and their families will have a Family Late Night at Camp Jacobson. Senior campers and their counselors will stay at Camp Jacobson after camp for post-camp activities. Families will join us from 5-6:30pm on Tuesday, July 31 to visit with campers, staff, friends and families.

COURTSIDE NEWS
We can’t wait for you to see our revamped Basketball Courts and Hockey Rink. New hoops, new colors and lots of fun in store!
