Paul Isserles


Paul is the Director of Bernice Jacobson Day School & Camp. He oversees all programs located at BJDSC, including Camp Jacobson, year-round daycare programming, special events, and the overall facility. With 27 years of camping and youth experience, Paul spent much of his career in the JCC movement, working at the Mid Island Y and for ten years as an esteemed colleague and ultimately a member of the Senior Management Team of Sid Jacobson JCC from 2001-2011. During his tenure, he was our Director of Youth Services, Assistant Executive Director and the founding director of Camp Jacobson. In the intervening years, he became the Director for Buckley Day Camp and went on to become the first Director of Day Camp Initiatives for the Foundation for Jewish Camping, where his expertise assisted Jewish Day Camps.

Adam Grundfast

Assistant Director

Adam’s lifelong involvement in camp along with his career experience over the last eleven years make him the ideal fit for this position. Most recently, he worked for two years at Camp Pontiac in Copake overseeing a group of middle school-aged boys, supervising campers across campus-wide activities, and in the training and development of camp counselors. Before that, Adam worked across sales and marketing, in the training and development of camp counselors, and as a camp supervisor for five years at Pierce Day Camp in Roslyn.  Adam will assist Paul Isserles, Camp Jacobson Director, in the creation and implementation of strategic planning along with the overall program development and supervision of daily operations. Together, Paul and Adam are looking forward to bringing the values-driven premier camp experience of Camp Jacobson to existing and new families!

Lindsay Berez

Assistant Camp Director

Lindsay is the Assistant Camp Director of Camp Jacobson and the Director of Youth Services at Sid Jacobson JCC. She is a lifelong camper and has been working in summer camps for over ten years, including four years at Camp Jacobson as Lower Camp Director. She was previously the Coordinator of Year Round Programs at Sunrise Day Camp, the only day camp in the nation for children with cancer and their siblings. Lindsay holds a Bachelor’s degree from Towson University where she majored in Family Studies and Community Development and earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from Hunter College.

Julie Bass


Julie oversees the day-to-day operations of Bernice Jacobson Day School & Camp. She comes to BJDSC with office and education experience, having worked as a lead teacher at the Friends Together Early Childhood Center. Julie holds Bachelor’s degrees in both Early Childhood Education, Birth-Grade 2 and Elementary Education, Grades 1-6, from Hofstra University.
