When can I expect my child to be picked up and dropped off?

Depending on where you live, you can expect your child to be picked up sometime between 8:15am and 8:45am. Our air-conditioned mini buses arrive at our campgrounds between 9:00am and 9:30am.  Mini-day campers depart camp at 2:00pm. Full day campers leave at approximately 4:00pm. For a discounted rate, parentc can choose to drive their children to and from camp.

What geographic areas do our campers come from?
In addition to all of Nassau County, we supply busing from Queens and Manhattan, with pick-up points on the east side of Manhattan.
What is your camper-to-staff ratio?

Each age group is split into divisions and then groups. Our Early Childhood Camp (ages 3-4) and Lower Camp (entering grades K-1) groups boast a very high camper-to-staff ratio of 4:1 for Early Childhood groups and 6:1 for Lower Camp groups. Our Upper Camp groups (entering grades 2-4) have a 7:1 ratio and Travel Camp groups (entering grades 5-10) hve an 8:1 ratio with additional staff added for off-site trips.

Are there additional costs I need to consider when sending
my child to camp?

There are no hidden fees at Camp Jacobson, as we are a non-tipping camp. Your rate includes all staff gratuities, trips, meals and snacks, transportation and towel service. Horseback riding lessons, post-camp swim lessons and before and after care are provided for an additional fee. (See Dates & Rates for pricing.)

Do campers go on trips?

Campers entering grades 2-4 will have 3 or 4 days trips during the summer. Campers entering grades 5-6 go on 2-3 day trips per week, plus 1 or 2 overnight trips during the summer.  Campers entering grades 7-10 go on extended overnight trips each week. See our 2017 camp calendar for more information.
